RHS Chatsworth 2017
Follwing the success of the three exhibition gardens completed at Chelsea Flower Show, I was invited by David Harber http://www.davidharber.co.uk/ to create a pretty show stand for the at the new RHS Chatsworth. This was to sit alongside their Curves and Cube installation; one of many Free Form gardens dotted along the river below the majestic Chatsworth House, in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales. https://www.rhs.org.uk/shows-events/rhs-chatsworth-flower-show
I used a combination of pretty perennials: Nepeta ‘Walkers Low’, Salvia nemerosa ‘Caradonna’, Digiplexis ‘Berry Canary’, Paeonia ‘Antwerpen’, Alchemilla mollis and the dainty wafting grass Stipa tenuissima.
For Curves and Cube installation I used the bold thistle Eryngium ‘Big Blue’ and Nepeta ‘Six Hills Giant’ to punch through the curved benches by Gaze Burvill, along with Hellebore and ferns amongst the rocks beneath. http://www.gazeburvill.com/
5 stars!! And everyone loved the garden , easy for us to use, and lots of ” Oh what clever planting”
But what do I know ?…. leaves up / roots down!
Thanks you are a star, David and Sophie x
