Time is always spent with the clients on site to establish what they want to achieve. A thorough discussion of aesthetics and functionality. Build budget is also covered at this stage, but not set in stone. Following this a detailed Design Brief is drawn up along with a quotation for design fees.
CONCEPT & MASTER PLANS
Designing to an agreed Design Brief, a Concept plan, 3D CAD model and sample materials are presented to the client for discussion, resulting in a final Master Plan from which detailed drawings and a Scope of Works can be drawn up.
DETAILED DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS
In order for a contractor to build exactly what the client and designer have agreed, a set of detailed construction drawings and specifications are produced together with a Scope of Works.
Planting beds are carefully designed with a 'right plant for the right place' policy to reduce maintenance and suit the client's requirements. Colour and texture are always key to planting design. Plants are sourced and personally selected from some of the best nurseries in the country. Sarah sets them out on site, to ensure the best look. Maintenance plans & schedules are also offered as well as ongoing management of the maintenance.
During the construction stage a weekly monitoring service ensures that all is going to plan and keeps the client / contractor relationship on track.
SOURCING PLANTS, FURNITURE, ART
Sarah has a good relationship with some of the top suppliers of high quality furniture, planters, glasshouses and sculpture in the UK, and is always happy to source a specific piece for a specific position in the garden.
